Wild Utah: America's Redrock Wilderness

NATURAL ARCHES
The citizen's proposal contains numerous natural arch formations. Most Utah natural arches are formed in the soft sandstone of the Colorado Plateau. Although Arches National Park was set aside to protect the arches, and it contains the highest concentration of arches in the world, our citizen's proposal also contains numerous arches, buttresses, holes, depression pots, and other unique sandstone-based features. Designating the land as wilderness protects unique features such as arches from oil and gas exploration, mining, and ORV abuse.
